Here are four ways my spring cleaning routine has changed since implementing the KonMari method.
1. I actually clean. That sounds strange I know, but the reality is I don’t have to organize my clutter and rush through tasks that don’t actually help me get my home fresh and clean for Spring!
2. Cleaning no longer takes 2 days! Yay! I can now clean my three bedroom one bathroom house in about 5-6 hours depending on my children’s willingness to let me clean for the day.
3. As I clean I recognize things I no longer need not only faster but easier as well. Everytime I spring clean I get rid of more and more things that don’t serve our household anymore. I go through my children’s clothes, my toiletries, and kitchen utensils. I always find stuff surprisingly that I don’t need or quite frankly want anymore.
4. I am happy to spring clean. I know everyone probably likes to start spring cleaning because it’s that fresh start that everyone craves. But that feeling for me went away after about two hours, than I just regretted everything I had started. Now I get excited and I like finishging my tasks. It really does spark joy for me to clean up after a long, cold, and dark winter.
